Our Staff

The Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust is made up of four staff members:

Jane Calvin, Executive Director - Jane’s prior experience includes teaching high school science, forest policy work for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, and work as an urban forester for the state of Massachusetts. Jane holds a Masters in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Jane has been with the Trust since 1995. 
In 2014 Jane received the Lowell's Womens' Week 'Because of Her Award' and was a Lowell Sun Charities' Salute to Women honoree.

Carolyn Meklenburg, Stewardship & Education Manager -  Carolyn joined the Trust in August 2015. She previously served as a General Corps Member with Barnstable County AmeriCorps Cape Cod, engaging in natural resource management, disaster preparedness and response, environmental education, and volunteer outreach. A 2014 graduate of Stonehill College, Carolyn majored in English, and brings additional experience through her work as a teacher naturalist at Mass Audubon's Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary. She has always enjoyed working with youth since her first job as a camp counselor. Carolyn is excited to connect the young people of Lowell with our local environment, to steward our properties, and to work with our volunteers!

Stephanie Jones, Environmental Educator - Stephanie Jones joined us last fall as an environmental educator in our after-school programs working with 1st-4th graders at the Morey and Shaughnessy Schools.  Stephanie brings experience working with youth at wildlife refuges in both New Jersey and Maryland. She is also a military veteran having served as an air traffic controller in much of the Middle East.

Bora Poun, Environmental Educator - Bora is a student at Middlesex Community College.  As a leader with Spindle City Corps, a program run in partnership with Lowell National Historical Park and Community Teamwork, Bora took great interest in our programming.  He volunteered as a mentor for high school students in our after-school program.  Bora joined LP&CT's staff this spring to teach in our new after-school program at the Bartlett School.
